Welcome to North Lakes Children’s Services

We offer attachment and trauma informed care to young people via therapeutic children’s residential homes. We also run an independent specialist school where we work primarily with pupils who have difficulties around their social interaction, emotions and/or their mental health.

Residential Children’s Homes and Specialist School

Our homes promote a safe and nurturing group living environment. We have the flexibility and scope to match the presenting needs and behaviours of a young person with the most appropriately skilled care team and home location.

Our school pupils are supported by individual programmes and planning. We have a comprehensive assessment and tracking system so pupils are taught at a level which leads them to thrive.

“The highly nurturing & therapeutic approach taken by staff helps young people understand their feelings and explore alternative ways to express themselves.”

Kirby Moor School

Kirby Moor School has two sites where we educate pupils aged 7-18. Each class of up to six pupils is led by a qualified teacher and at least one learning support assistant. Our pastoral teams facilitate individual programmes of support and pupils have access to additional support.

We are strongly focussed on careers related learning to help develop skills and aspirations for future life goals.
